STUPID GEORGES. Can't finish a fight with one eye and can't spell 'fine' either. The UFC might as well take him behind the shed and shoot him in the face with a shotgun. HE'S DONE!
When asked about whether GSP vs Nick Diaz is even possible due to the complications between UFC and Strikeforce (ie Showtime), Dana White glibly replied "I imagine I could do whatever I wanted to do if I really wanted." So I guess now all we have to do is sit back and see what Dana does and doesn't want to do ... give the fans what they want or save a few bucks because he doesn't want to share with Showtime.
Lyoto Machida's crane kick hit Randy Couture so hard his teeth fell out of his head:
"He thought he got hit with a punch," White said. "I went up into the octagon to talk to him. I went, 'Are you alright?' He says, 'Yeah. He hit me in the tooth.' And the tooth fell out while he was showing me. I said, 'That's alright. We'll get you a new one ? a better one than that ? when we get back to Las Vegas.'"
If only Randy hadn't retired last night, he could have worked his way up to a Polident sponsorship.
Next up for Jose Aldo: Chad Mendes on August 6th. The Aldo who showed up (or rather didn't show up) last night has a pretty good chance of losing, especially if what we saw on the ground with Hominick wasn't some exhaustion induced suckage.
Dana White has no idea what you're talking about when you say the main event sucked. Why, what ever do you mean???
Steven Seagal manages to defeat my attempts to hate him over calling Machida 'Machida-kun' by receiving a sweet phone call from his baby son during this interview with Ariel Helwani. Now I have to acknowledge the fact that he's a fucking human being. SEEEEEAAAAGAAAAAAL! *shakes fist*
Greg Jackson defends GSP's performance. His answers: He was fighting with one eye. He was fighting with one eye. He was fighting with one eye. He was fighting with one eye.
